Duke of Edinburgh Award SchemeWhat is the Duke of Edinburgh's Award?
The Award is a challenging programme of leisure time actvities which will help you to learn new skills, help others and experience adventure and it will give you a great sense of acheivement.
What is involved?
The Award has three levels these being
- Bronze which lasts at least 6 months
- Silver which lasts at least 12 months
- Gold which will last at least 18 months
For each level participants are asked to complete four sections these being
- Service
- Expeditions
- Skill
- Physcial
When you reach the gold level you will take part in a Residential Project
Who is the Award for?
The Award is open for anyone aged between 14 and 25 years, the programme is flexible with participants being encouraged to develop an area that they are already interested in or to try something new.
How can I get involved?
If you are interested in taking part in the award the Alloa Open Award Group meets at the centre fortnightly on a Wednesday night from 7.30 - 9.00, if you would like to come along to the group why not contact Mary at the centre and she will be happy to discuss the award with you.
