Tenant Participation
Definition
Tenant participation is about tenants taking part in decision making processes and influencing decisions about
- Housing policies,
- Housing conditions,
- Housing and related services.
It is a two way process which involves the sharing of information, ideas and power. Its aim is to improve the standard of housing conditions and services.
Community & Tenant Participation Co-ordinator
The Community and Tenant Participation Co-ordinator is a core member of the Housing Service Policy, Planning and Performance Team.
Key areas of responsibility for the Community and Tenant Partcipation Co-ordinator are to
- Encourage community and tenant participation in all aspects of Service;
- Review and implement the participation strategy;
- Provide direct support for local groups, the voluntary sector and the Federation;
- Develop quality communication methods for tenant consultation and involvement.
Tenant Participation Strategy 2010 - 2013
This is our third Tenant Participation Strategy and sets out within sections 1 to 7 of the strategy's joint working what Clackmannanshire Council, Ochil View and Paragon Housing Associations are planning to do in cooperation with tenants, to enable and support tenant participation over the next three years.
Efforts were made in the preparation of the Strategy to take account of the views of tenants, partners and other interested parties.
Customer Satisfaction
The Housing Service is currently reviewing it's approach to the methodology applied in seeking feedback and views on its services from customers. This will ensure a consistent approach is applied across the service and that results can be collectively analysed to improve our services. More information will be published on the Council's Consultation Database.
